MINI has teamed up with Italian camper van specialists AUTOHOME to bring a spirit of adventure to the latest Countryman and other MINI models.

The leisure vehicle company has created a special edition AirTop roof tent which can be attached to the car's roof rails.

Capable of accommodating two adults, the roof tent is housed in its own aerodynamic box and measures 2.1 x 1.3 metres when erected.

The tent is fitted with a high-density mattress with cotton cover, two doors and two windows with zips, close-meshed mosquito nets at all openings and a battery-operated LED interior light as well as luggage nets and pockets to stow personal items.

A solid aluminium ladder is also provided to climb up on to the top floor of the Countryman.

The AirTop tent can be ordered from the AUTOHOME website where it is priced at 2,836.93 euros or £2,395.65.
