SSANGYONG is launching its Korando SUV for 2017 with a more stylish and contemporary new front design and with upgraded levels of equipment.

The car, which is on sale now, sports a distinctive new grille and headlight treatment, adopting the new SsangYong styling first seen on the Tivoli and Tivoli XLV crossovers and on the new Rexton 4x4 which were announced recently.

This also includes new fog lights, lower valance and bonnet and features daytime running lights using 11 high-luminescent LED lamps with separate lenses to improve visibility. On the inside there's a new ergonomically designed steering wheel.

There are four models in the Korando range: the two-wheel drive SE at £17,000, SE 4x4, £18,500, ELX 4x4, £22,000, and ELX with automatic transmission from £23,500.

With a two-tonne towing capacity, the Korando has become popular with those needing to tow a caravan, horsebox or boat trailer.

The car also offers generous boot space of up to 1,312 litres - room for bulky leisure equipment or a couple of large dogs.

All models come with electrically operated and heated door mirrors with puddle lamps, RDS radio and iPod and Bluetooth connectivity, air conditioning, tinted glass and roof rails.

The ELX version adds equipment including front and rear parking sensors, a rear-view camera, seven-inch touchscreen and a TomTom sat nav.

It also features 18-inch diamond-cut wheels, leather seats, heated steering wheel and heated front and rear seats.

The latest version of Korando is powered by a turbo-charged, Euro 6 compliant 2.2-litre diesel enigne with a maximum power is 178bhp.

The engine can be matched with either a six-speed manual or optional six-speed Aisin automatic transmission and comes with either front wheel-drive or an on-demand all-wheel drive system.
