FORD is offering enthusiasts even more driving fun with the introduction of the new Ford Focus RS Edition which features a mechanical Quaife limited-slip differential for even better handling.

The Focus RS Edition, with prices from £35,795, has been developed by Ford Performance engineers and evaluated at locations across the globe to further advance the high-performance hatchback's traction and responsiveness using a Quaife LSD for the front axle.

It is also being offered with special styling, including signature nitrous blue paint with striking black exterior details, a two-tone seat and carbon-fibre trim.

The mechanical LSD limits the engine torque delivered to a wheel that has reduced traction on the road surface, and redistributes torque to the wheel with more traction to counteract the wheel spin that can hamper acceleration and stability.

By controlling the torque delivered to each front wheel, the Focus RS Edition's LSD enables drivers to exploit the 350bhp delivered by its 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine in high-performance driving situations even more.

The Focus RS Edition - as with all other versions of the RS - is fitted with dynamic torque vectoring, torque vectoring control and all-wheel drive.

It also delivers drive modes that include the industry-first drift mode for controlled oversteer drifts under circuit conditions and launch control for extreme performance off the start-line - accelerating from 0-62mph in 4.7seconds.

Design features and driving and safety aids include 19-inch alloy wheels, Brembo four-piston monoblock callipers, Recaro shell seats, privacy glass, rear parking sensors, electric folding mirrors, cruise control with speed limiter, Ford's KeyFree system, a heated steering wheel, matt black door mirror caps and Active City Stop.
