JEEP has revealed pricing and specification for the all-new Compass SUV which will go on sale in the UK in February.

The starting price of the entry level for the 1.6 MultiJet 120 MTX FWD will be £22,995 with the top of the range Trailhawk 2.0 MultiJet II 4x4 Auto9 coming in at £35,595.

The new vehicle represents a key addition to the Jeep line-up, allowing the brand to tackle the important and growing compact SUV segment that is expected to grow by almost 20 per cent to 7.5 million in 2020.

In Europe alone, this segment amounts to more than 1.6 million and is expected to achieve more than two million units by 2020.

In the UK, the Compass range will be powered by two petrol and three diesel engines.

The petrol engine offering includes a 1.4-litre MultiAir ll Turbo engine with stop/start delivering 140bhp in combination with the six-speed manual gearbox and 4x2 configuration, and the 1.4-litre MultiAir ll Turbo engine producing 170bhp paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and 4x4 configuration.

The diesel engine range comprises the 1.6-litre MultiJet ll with stop&start delivering 120bhp with a six-speed manual gearbox and 4x2 configuration, and the 2.0-litre MultiJet ll delivering 140bhp plus six-speed manual transmission.

Four equipment levels of JeepCompass are offered in the UK: Sport, Longitude, Limited and Trailhawk.

Jeep says the Compass is the first Jeep SUV to offer the new Uconnect system, delivering communication, entertainment and navigation features.

The Compass offers more than 70 available active and passive safety and security features including forward collision warning, lane sense departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, park view rear backup camera, park assist, adaptive cruise control and electronic stability control.
