LATEST versions of Ford's legendary Mustang have only been available for a matter of weeks, but the company has already announced a range of upgrades which the company says will enhance both performance and the driving experience.
The new active valve performance exhaust technology - previously announced for Mustang 5.0-litre V8 models - will now also be fitted on the 2.3-litre EcoBoost model enabling drivers to adjust the intensity of their vehicle's exhaust note to suit their mood and the driving scenario.
The system allows drivers to select so-called Quiet Mode to automatically limit the exhaust's noise output at pre-programmed times of the day to avoid disturbing neighbours.
The V8 model, meanwhile, gets quad-tailpipes and the rev-matching technology which was first unveiled for the exclusive Bullitt special edition. The technology helps deliver smoother downshifts on versions fitted with six-speed manual transmission, accompanied by a sporty "blip" of the 450PS engine.
Available as an option is a new B&O PLAY premium audio system which has been customized around the new Mustang's interior environment.
The system delivers a massive 1000 watts of power through 12 high performance speakers, including a subwoofer. No quiet mode there then.
