A 'WARM' version of the Kia Picanto city car is being released powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine.
Developing 99bhp it makes the new GT-Line models the most powerful Picantos with a 0 to 60 acceleration time of 9.8 seconds and a top speed of 112mph.
That's significantly more than the current 1.25-litre engine used in the Picanto GT-Line which has an output of 83bhp.
Fuel figures for the new three-pot T-GDi engine in the Picanto are rated at 55.4mpg with emissions of 117g/km.
The new turbo model completes the Picanto line up and two versions of the new GT-Line are being made available, priced from £13,320 and £14,720 for a higher specification S grade car.
With larger sports bumpers and red highlights within the front upper grille, side air intakes and side sills the GT-Line looks different to the regular Picanto.
It sits on 16-inch alloys and also comes with projector headlamps which add to the sporty look.
Inside, the sporty theme continues with black and red faux leather upholstery, stainless-steel pedals and satin chrome interior door handles.
A seven-inch touchscreen with sat nav as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are standard on all GT-Line models.
GT-Line S models also feature an electric sunroof, heated front seats and steering wheel, automatic air conditioning, a smart key with engine start/stop button and cruise control with speed limiter, while Kia Connected Services with TomTom and a wireless mobile phone charger are also standard.
Boot capacity remains the same as on the regular Picanto at 255 litres - the most of any car in its class - with 60:40 split-folding rear seats, which can fold flat to increase capacity to 1,010 litres.
The Picanto requires servicing every 10,000 miles or 12 months and is available with Kia's newly launched ‘Kia Care' service plans, which have been developed to provide customers with a wide range of service plan options for any Kia model within the first seven years of the vehicle's life - matching its industry-leading seven-year warranty.
The plans are available for all Kia owners and can be purchased at any point of ownership for cars up to five years old.
