ITALIAN car maker Alfa Romeo is bolstering its Giulia and Stelvio line ups with the introduction of new engines, more kit and an extra level of cover.

There's also a new Veloce Ti grade for the Giulia which adds styling tweaks from the high performance Quadrifoglio models.

The engines in the two ranges now meet the latest European emission standards which sees diesel models using AdBlue to reduce NOx outputs and some extra power on the 2.2-litre engines which now come with an additional 10 horsepower.

All versions of the Giulia and Stelvio now come with an 8.8-inch Alfa Connect system with navigation and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard and are covered by Alfa's new five year warranty with three years servicing and five years roadside assistance.

The Giulia range is now priced from £32,490 while the new Veloce Ti costs from £45,500 which includes carbon interior trim, leather and Alcantara seats as well as other features from the Quadrifoglio including 19-inch alloys with red brake calipers and carbon finishes on the grille and mirror caps.

It is powered by the same 280bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine found in the regular Giulia Veloce which gives it a 0 to 60 acceleration of 5.7 seconds with fuel economy rated at 40.9mpg.

For an extra £1,650 the Veloce Ti can also be specified in any Quadrifoglio paint colour, including Competizione Red and Trofeo White, as well as an optional carbon pack which adds Quadrifoglio carbon fibre lip spoiler, Quadrifoglio side-skirts with carbon fibre insert and carbon fibre gearshift insert.

The standard content of the Stelvio range has also been bolstered with the entry Super trim level now including Michelin CrossClimate Winter tyres to its equipment list, while the Speciale also adds rear privacy glass, aluminium kick plates and black brake calipers.

Stelvio Quadrifoglio models will also come with rear privacy glass, black anodized brake calipers and 20-inch silver five-hole alloy wheels.

Prices for the Stelvio range now start at £36,990 for a 2.0-litre rear-wheel-drive diesel and top out at £69,500 for the high performance 510bhp 2.9-litre V6 twin turbo Quadrifoglio 4x4 or £20,000 more for the ultra hot NRING model.
