MORE advanced technology and new engines are being fitted to Ford's top end people movers for the new model year.

For 2019 both the S-Max and Galaxy MPVs will deliver even greater fuel efficiency, performance and refinement for customers, says the company.

They will come for the first time with Ford's two-litre EcoBlue diesel engine with power outputs from 120PS to 240PS - the latter with twin turbochargers - and with an advanced new eight-speed automatic transmission controlled using a new rotary gear shift dial.

And, by the end of the year, both ranges will add 1.5-litre EcoBoost 165PS petrol engines to their powertrain line-ups.

And there'll be more and improved high-tech gizmos available including adaptive cruise control with a stop and go facility on the eight-speed automatic, an enhanced version of Ford's blind spot information system that can detect approaching vehicles at greater distance and a new wiper system which is said to provide improved visibility via multiple water jets contained within the wiper arms.

Ford dealers are taking orders for the latest S-Max and Galaxy models now.
