A NEW flagship model is being added to Volkswagen's Arteon line up with the introduction of a 2.0-litre turbocharged version developing 272ps.
With a 0 to 60 time of less than 5.6 seconds, the new Arteon is even quicker through the gears than a Golf GTI.
Top speed is 155mph and officially the latest Arteon has a fuel return of 40.4 to the gallon with emissions of 160g/km.
The new TSI powertrain will be available in both Elegance and R-Line specifications and will be priced from £39,065 and £39,850 respectively.
In the current VW stable its performance is exceeded only by the Golf R.
The new Arteon is fitted with VW's 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system for added grip and comes with a full set of active systems including electronic stability and an electronic differential lock.
The Arteon range starts at £32,745 in Elegance specification and £33,530 in R-Line form.
