A NEW range of Black Edition special edition variants of four of Mitsubishi's most popular models have just gone on sale and you can have one in any colour you want as long as it's black - or grey, or white!

So why the Black Edition name? Because whether you choose one in black, grey or white it will come with black alloys wheels and black detailing on such things as the radiator grille, mirror cappings, light surrounds and door handles.

Black edition versions of the ASX, Outlander Petrol, Eclipse Cross and L200 pick-up models are available but only in limited numbers, says Mitsubishi.

Priced from £27,290 the Eclipse Cross Black Edition is based on the high-specification Eclipse Cross 4 and is offered as a two-wheel drive manual or 4WD automatic. In addition, 250 of the 500 Eclipse Cross Black Edition models available in the UK will feature Mitsubishi Motors' new Connected Car system, which offers automatic accident detection and the ability to call for assistance in the event of a vehicle breakdown.

The L200 Barbarian Black Edition is available with either manual or automatic transmission priced from £30,195 excluding VAT and as well as black trim, comes with a choice of rear load area accessory with buyers able to choose either a GST hardtop with sliding side windows, a Mitsubishi Fullbox or a black aluminium roll top with black sports bars. Inside there's black leather seating, illuminated door entry guards and mood lighting with puddle lamps. Again, only 500 examples are available.

The ASX Black Edition will be even rarer with just 300 examples on offer. Priced from £21,660, it is based on the Juro variant and comes with a panoramic roof, plus black roof rails and side window mouldings.

Rarest of the lot will be the Outlander Black Edition which is based on the top Outlander 4 petrol variant but is enhanced with black front and rear skid plates, black door mirror covers, side rubbing strips and roof rails. The interior is finished with a black roof lining and upgraded upholstery. Only 150 will be available priced from £31,560.
