A LIMITED edition MINI is being released to mark the brand's 60 anniversary since the original was launched in 1959.

Just 500 version of the MINI 60 Years Edition will be available in the UK and the new model will be decked out with a British Racing Green paint job, a black roof and special interior trim.

Priced from £29,990 the car will be on sale in March and is based on the three-door Cooper hatch with an automatic gearbox.

On the exterior, the MINI 60 Years Edition will have an additional set of spot lamps fitted to the front radiator grille harking back to the set up used on the Monte Carlo Rally winning cars of the early 1960s.

The special model will also come with specially designed bonnet stripes and 17-inch light alloy wheels and will have 60 Years emblems on the left-hand bonnet stripe, the side scuttles of the turn indicators and an LED logo puddle lamp which will be projected from the driver's door.

More emblems feature on the steering wheel and on the seats which have leather upholstery exclusive to the model.

A Navigation Plus pack is included providing a larger 8.8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity, a concierge service and wireless charging.

A rear view camera, folding exterior mirrors and front and rear park distance control are other features as are automatic LED lamps front and rear.

Under the new WLTP fuel testing regime the special edition has an official fuel return ranging from 39.8 to 43.5 mpg with CO2 emissions running from 129 to 127 g/km and can accelerate 0 to 60 in 6.7 seconds.
