SPANISH maker SEAT is set to launch its hottest Cupra road car to date - a 365bhp super-hatch which will cover the 0-60mph sprint in less than 4.5 seconds and go on to a 155mph maximum.
And it's going to be pretty exclusive, with only 150 examples of the hot Leon Cupra R ST special editions available to UK enthusiasts, with order books opening on April 9th.
Two versions will be available - in ‘standard' form, the £37,975 R ST will come fitted with a 296bhp version of the VW Group's two-litre, TSI engine. But for £500 more customers can upgrade to the 365bhp version with the addition of an insurance-rated ABT tuning pack.
It's no slouch in 296bhp form either. The highly-tuned turbocharged, direct-injection petrol engine linked to a seven-speed DSG transmission and four wheel drive gives it the ability to tick off the 0-60mph sprint in under 4.9 seconds.
With a high specification included as standard, the special edition comes with quad exhaust, Brembo brakes, sports bucket seats, keyless entry, front and rear view cameras and a panoramic sunroof. Newly developed lateral air intakes and carbon fibre detailing on the front splitter, side skirts and rear spoiler and diffuser set it apart from other Leon derivatives and help to improve aerodynamic efficiency.
