AUDI's fire-breathing new compact super-SUV, the SQ2, is now available from British dealers.
First seen at last autumn's Paris motor show, this ultimate compact SUV has taken a while to arrive, but enthusiasts will reckon it has been worth the wait - even at the £36,800 asking price.
With almost 300bhp on tap, the SQ2 will cover the 0-60mph sprint in less than 4.8 seconds and power on to an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph.
The SQ2's turbocharged two-litre engine is matched to a seven-speed S tronic auto transmission and Audi's legendary quattro all-wheel drive system is standard as is S sport suspension which lowers the body by 20mm and an S-specific power steering set-up.
Styling tweaks provide plenty of visual impact and include a newly sculpted front bumper and a splitter running almost the entire width of the car which is flanked by two massive air inlets. At the rear, a silver diffuser is moulded around the S-specific dual branch tailpipes on each corner while the roof edge spoiler also features a special contour.
There are plenty of bells and whistles inside too including dual-zone climate control, an extended leather pack, a 3.5" colour driver's information system and a flat-bottomed S multi-function steering wheel.
And for drivers who want to make their SQ2 even more distinctive, there's a variety of optional customisation packs to enhance both exterior styling and interior comfort and convenience.
In terms of practicality, the SQ2 offers the same interior space as other Q2 quattro variants in the range, as well as a split-folding 60:40 rear seat.
