VAUXHALL is targeting big families with the introduction of its new Vivaro Life Elite, seating up to eight and coming with a price tag that starts from £41,255.
There will also be a more basic version, called the Vivaro Life Edition, costing from £27,760 and seating just two but with space for up to nine occupants at extra cost.
Initially offered with 1.5 or 2.0 litre diesel engines, a pure electric version is planned for 2021.
The Vivaro Life is built at the company's Luton manufacturing plant, helping to secure 1,250 jobs. Investment in the new vehicle will help increase the plant's production capacity to 100,000 units per year, says Vauxhall.
The Vivaro Life Elite comes very well equipped, with electrically-operated and heated front seats with massage facility and a panoramic roof.
It also has an array of smart technology such as an intuitive seven-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and smart navigation system. Vauxhall Connect and panoramic rear-view camera are also included.
A five-seater configuration is standard but the customer can option the third row to make it an eight-seater. There is also a second row option of two individual seats which then enables a seven-seater layout.
The two individual seats swivel and can either face forward or be rotated for face-to-face conference seating. There is also an optional centre table.
Luxurious Elite trim is available for the Large versions - in front, seats with massage and electric heating, two movable leather chairs behind, each with a 48cm wide seat cushion.
VIP passengers can thus also sit facing each other and enjoy the legroom. The movable table also folds away to provide additional storage space for small objects. Passengers can charge their mobile devices using the 230V plug socket.
A six-speed manual gearbox is fitted at present with an eight-speed automatic transmission available next year.
