AN exclusive version of the BMW X7 performance SUV has been announced with just 10 models destined for the UK.

Prices will start from £114,975 for the Dark Shadow Edition and the car is available only in a special grey paint finish with high gloss black elements around the grille, air vents and exhaust nacelles.

The car sits on 22-inch light alloy wheels while inside there is a leather trim on the instrument panel as well as an Alcantara headlining.

Only 500 versions will be made at BMW's Spartanburg factory in the United States and the UK models will also come with a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system as well as other features including a panoramic glass roof, rear seat enterntainment equipment, a head up display and massaging front seats.

The special has the same 4.4-litre V8 engine as the X7 M50i which develops 523hp. Performance figures are a 0 to 60 time of 4.5 seconds and a maximum restricted to 155mph.

The X7 is BMW's flagship SUV and the range starts from £72,315 for a M50d diesel model.
