A HOT version of Hyundai's i20 supermini will be on sale early next year as the company has released prices and specifications for its all-new i20 line up.

The new range will be priced from £18,595 and features the Korean car maker's latest design theme which sees sharper and cleaner lines for the rival to the Ford Fiesta.

All versions of the newcomer are powered by a 1.0-litre 48-volt mild hybrid engine which develops 100ps and is rated at up to 55.4 to the gallon with emissions of 115g/km.

Meanwhile, the performance-oriented i20 N is powered by a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine that develops 204ps giving it a 0 to 60 time of 6.7 seconds and a maximum of 143mph.

It will be coming on stream in the spring and will sit alongside Hyundai's other N models which are based on the larger i30 and i30 Fastback.

The mainstream line up sees the i20 range starting in SE Connect trim with higher specification Premium and Ultimate grades which are priced from £20,795 and £22,095 respectively.

SE Connect trim includes an eight-inch touchscreen display audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster with customisable functions, manual air conditioning, cruise control, a rear view camera and Hyundai's SmartSense safety system which has an automated emergency call function, forward collision alert, driver attention alert, intelligent speed limit warning, high beam assist, lane keep assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Premium models have more equipment and come with a 10.25-inch touchscreen sat nav system and a lane following function while Ultimate grade cars have keyless entry, a Bose sound system and wireless phone charging among their standard features.

The i20 N will also be joined by sporty N Line trim models and Hyundai says it will be announcing prices and more details of those later.
