SKODA is continuing its electrification programme with the addition of an iV plug-in hybrid model to its new Octavia range.

Using the same petrol/electric drivetrain technology seen in the Superb iV and the Octavia vRS iV, the new Octavia iV is priced from £30,795 and is available in hatch and estate forms.

With a plug-in hybrid drivetrain, the Octavia iV is the most fuel-efficient Octavia so far with a WLTP fuel consumption rated between 282.5 -188.3mpg. CO2outputs are 22-33g/km on the combined cycle.

The Octavia iV has a 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine and electric motor which develop a total of 204ps and has an electric only range of up to 43 miles.

Recharging - which is done from a connection of the front passenger side wing - can be done to full capacity in 3.5 hours from a standard domestic 16A supply.

Estate variants are priced from £31,745 with higher specification SE L models costing from £33,605. The hatch in SE L grade is priced from £32,525.
