JAGUAR is updating its E-PACE SUV with design changes inside and out and new engines which include a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

The new line up will be priced from £32,575 and sees the introduction of a P300e PHEV model which has a 1.5-lite three cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor with a zero emission range of up to 34 miles.

Total power output for the E-PACE P300e is 309ps which gives it a 0 to 60 acceleration time of 6.1 seconds and official fuel economy figures of up to 141mpg. Emissions are rated at 44g/km.

Other engine changes see more mild-hybrid systems coming on stream on both the petrol and diesel line ups.

The new E-PACE has an updated nose with a revised grille design, larger front air intakes and LED headlights while inside the car is now fitted with Jaguar Land Rover's Pivi Pro infotainment system.

The software is operated via an 11.4-inch touchscreen and allows for ‘over that air' automatic updates.

Range topping E-PACE 300 Sport models feature active driveline all-wheel-drive and adaptive dynamics as standard, and can reach 0-60mph in 6.6 seconds.

All versions of the revised E-PACE have automatic transmissions apart from the entry-level diesel which is front-wheel-drive and has a six-speed manual gearbox.

Apart from the new plug-in model the most economical is the diesel engined manual E-PACE which has an official fuel return of 46.9mpg while the mild-hbyrid automatic version can manage 44.3 to the gallon.

The new E-PACE also features Jaguar's ClearSight Interior rear view mirror technology for the first time.

The system brings improved convenience by ensuring the driver has an unobstructed view of the road behind. Using a wide angle rear-facing camera, the system feeds images to a high-definition screen within the frameless rear view mirror; unhindered by tall rear passengers, poor light or rain on the rear screen.

The latest 3D Surround Camera technology delivers advanced 3D functionality using the latest camera technology to provide more detail and a choice of real-time viewing options when manoeuvring the vehicle.
