AUDI is updating its SQ2 range of compact hot SUVs to give them even more performance with the 2.0-litre turbo engine now delivering 300ps.

When they become available in the UK the latest generation SQ2 and even more sportier looking SQ2 Black Edition models will also be joined by a new SQ2 Vorsprung model with even more kit on board. Deliveries of all variants will begin early in 2021.

The new line up is priced from £38,900 and all versions have received exterior styling changes including sharper body lines and LED headlights as standard. The Vorsprung models have LED matrix lamps fitted.

Performance is now a 0 to 60mph acceleration of 4.9 seconds, a maximum of 155mpg and the fuel return is a claimed best of 34mpg with emissions from 188g/km.

Equipment now include a rear view camera and a radar system which monitors the area in front of the car to avoid accidents.

On-board infotainment technology is also enhanced across the board with the addition of a fully digital virtual cockpit with a 12.3-inch binnacle display and Audi's MMI navigation plus system with its 8.3-inch monitor.

Range topping Vorsprung models are based on the SQ2 Black Edition but come with different alloy wheels and Matrix LED lighting, front seat heating for leather sport seats, a panoramic sunroof and the Audi phone system enabling wireless charging and connection of smartphones to the vehicle's aerial.

Driver assistance features include park assist for automatic 'hands-free'steering into and out of parking spaces, Audi side assist blindspot monitoring, a cross traffic assist reversing aid and adaptive cruise assist, the latter making its SQ2 debut as part of the model update.
