A NEW model is joining the Lexus UX line up of compact SUVs with the introduction of a Premium Sport Edition trim level.

Priced from £33,150 the UX 250h Premium Sport Edition comes with an all-black theme for the spindle grille mesh and frame, five-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels, door mirror casings, roof rails and headlight units.

Inside, the seats upholstered in black Tahara - Lexus's alternative to leather - and the equipment list includes a blind spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert and a navigation system.

Lexus says that the extra equipment on the Premium Sport Edition come at £850 more than on the UX Premium Pack model on which it is based.

The newcomer also has heated seats, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, rear privacy glass and a reversing camera with a sonar system for more safety alerts.

The car's multimedia system includes smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto which are accessed via the UX's seven-inch display screen.

As with other models in the UX line up it is powered by a 2.0-litre hybrid engine developing 180bhp and is capable of up to 65.7mpg. Emissions are rated at 124g/km.
