Isuzu launches new

D-Max pick-up

A NEW Isuzu D-Max is to be released in March bringing extra comfort and refinement to the pick-up truck range.

With a fresh look to its styling the new D-Max has more imposing lines and sits on 18-inch wheels.

Inside, there are changes to the dashboard design and a new infotainment system as well as soft-touch panelling.

Underneath, Isuzu has changed the suspension system for an improved ride and to reduce noise levels inside the cab.

There's also a faster engaging shift-on-the-fly 4WD system and a standard rear diff-lock on All-Purpose and Adventure models while the ladder chassis has been strengthened with larger rails and an extra panel to provide more underbody protection.

Safety systems include autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, a speed limiter and lane departure warning on every model.

Isuzu says the new D-Max is the only pick-up in the UK to have a rear radar fitted as standard on all double cab variants and all double cabs have rear cross traffic alert, a blind spot monitor and - for the first time in the pick-up segment - emergency lane keeping.

It retains its 3.5-tonne towing ability and as before the new D-Max will be available in a variety of powertrain options of 4x2 and 4x4, three different cab types - single, extended and double cab - while there are four trim levels.

Prices are still to be announced.
