A SPECIAL version of the X2 SUV is being released by BMW and comes with extra styling features inspired by cars from the race track.

The X2 Mesh Edition costs from £34,510 and features a high gloss black kidney grille as well as extra body kit and LED headlights.

The BMW X2 M Mesh Edition also has special entry sills with "Edition" inscription. An optional panoramic roof can be tilted and opens like a conventional sunroof.

An M leather steering wheel comes as standard, as does a car key featuring an exclusive M identifier.

Cars with a manual gearbox also have a gearshift lever with M badging. The interior trim strips are in Aluminium Hexagon Anthracite, the same material BMW uses in the headliner.

The car is available with a choice of seven engine options - including a plug-in hybrid - and deliveries are expected from March.
