THE limited edition launch model of the new Nissan Qashqai will be priced from £29,270 when it goes on sale in the summer.

The British-built Qashqai Premiere Edition will be powered by a 1.3 DiG-T 140ps mild hybrid engine with a six-speed manual transmission and will also be available as an automatic with 158ps on tap and priced from £31,790.

The special model - which sits between Nissan's N-Connecta and Tekna specifications - comes with a high-tech interior, a head-up display and two information screens.

Wireless phone charging and Nissan's ProPILOT connectivity and navigation system are also fitted as are LED matrix headlamps.

The new Qashqai Premiere Edition is powered by an evolved iteration of Nissan's 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine found on the current Qashqai and now has mild hybrid technology which enhances its efficiency.

With the addition of a secondary lithium-ion battery system, the new Qashqai offers extended idle stop, quicker restart and - on automatic models - coasting stop
