PRICES for the new longer ranger all-electric MG ZS SUV have been announced with the three model line up starting from £28,495 after the Government grant for plug-in vehicles.
The ZS now has a fully charged range of up to 273 miles which is 110 miles further than the current model.
The range will top out from £31,495 for high specification Trophy Connect versions which include MG's new ISmart connectivity system.
With a new front end which is exclusive to MG's electric models the ZS EV now has a 72kWh battery which can be recharged to 80 per cent capacity in 42 minutes from a fast charger.
An overnight recharge from a home charging point takes 10.5 hours.
Top speed is 108mph with a 0 to 60 acceleration time of 8.2 seconds compared to a maximum of 87mph in the regular EV which has a 44.5kWh battery.
The ISmart system is fitted to all versions and provides remote access to several vehicle functions via a 10.1-inch vertical touchscreen including locking the vehicle and operating the air conditioning.
Additional live information is available on the Trophy Connect model which gives access to weather and traffic conditions as well as to Amazon Prime.
Mid-grade Trophy models, priced from £30,995, comes with a panoramic sunroof, upgraded upholstery, heated front seats, electrical adjustment for the driver's seat, rain-sensing wipers and wireless phone charging.
The higher powered battery also allows for the ZS EV to tow loads of up to 500kg such as a small trailer or a bike carrier.
