VOLKSWAGEN's popular compact SUV, the T-Roc, will be getting a facelift next year, some five years since it was first launched.

VW says the styling has been "sharpened", but that's car-maker speak for minor changes rather than a serious re-design.

So exterior changes are limited to new LED headlights and darkened rear lights which are included as standard while LED matrix headlights and an illuminated radiator grille strip, as well as tail-light clusters with a new graphic structure and dynamic turn signal are available ‘on request'. There are five fresh paint colours and newly designed 17 and 19-inch alloy wheels too.

Inside, the revamp is more comprehensive with a new, high-quality dash panel, a tablet-style infotainment display, digital instrument cluster and a new design of multifunction steering wheel plus improved trim fabrics.

For 2022 the T-Roc will come with a number of the latest advanced assistance systems including Front Assist and Lane Assist, both of which will be fitted as standard, with plenty of other safety and convenience systems available for higher-trim level variants or as options.
