DEALERS have opened the order books for the entire line-up of the latest Range Rover models with prices now confirmed for the Extended-Range plug-in hybrid models and the exclusive Range Rover SV.

And as the latest hybrid models are made available, there's a bonus for potential buyers who can expect stronger performance and a longer range than was originally estimated.

The P510e and P440e Extended-Rang Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) are capable of CO emissions as low as 18g/km and an electric driving range, according to the WLTP test procedure, of up to 70 miles which, says Land Rover, translates into a real-world all-electric range of 54 miles.

When the new models were revealed last year, Land Rover engineers estimated an EV range of 62 miles with 30g/km of COemissions.

The 13 per cent increase means typical Range Rover customers will be able to complete 75 per cent of their journeys using the pure-electric power alone, says the company. The new Range Rover is also one of the few PHEVs to offer 50kW DC rapid charging capability and can charge up to 80 per cent in under an hour, making it one of the fastest charging plug-in hybrids.

A choice of Extended-Range Plug-in Hybrid powertrains is available to order now priced from £103,485.

Buyers looking for the ultimate Range Rover will, however, have to shell out considerably more for the new SV models which start from £146,200 for the short wheelbase version and £173,200 for the stretched model - and that's before buyers start to add their own personal touches through an extensive range of options.

As standard the new flagship models are identified by a unique front bumper and five-bar grille designs along with a laser-etched SV roundel on the side gills, new white ceramic SV roundel on the tailgate and optional 23-inch directional three-finish wheels. Exclusive materials include lustrous plated metals, smooth ceramics, sustainably sourced woods and soft near-aniline leather, as well as sustainable non-leather fabrics.

Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations commercial director Mark Turner says: "The introduction of the SV is a defining moment for Special Vehicle Operations, inviting our customers to create their very own interpretation of modern luxury and savour our shared passions for exquisite design, craftsmanship and quality."

Land Rover says it has already experienced unprecedented demand for the new Range Rover with more than two million individual configurations already carried out on the company's website.

And that demand can only increase with the arrival of the first 100 per cent electric Range Rover in 2024, heralding an electrification programme which will see every Land Rover available with pure-electric propulsion by the end of the decade.
