THE Avenger - the first fully-electric Jeep SUV and recently voted European Car of the Year for 2023 - will be priced from £36,500 when it arrives later in the year.

The Avenger 1 Edition will spearhead a range of electric models for the famous off-road brand.

With a range of up to 248 miles, the Avenger has a 156hp motor and can be recharged to 80 per cent capacity from a fast charger in 30 minutes.

The vehicle is equipped with standard SelecTerrain and hill descent control which offers six modes: "Normal" for everyday driving, "Eco" to enhance range, "Sport" for more driving fun, "Snow" for maximum traction on icy roads or trails, "Mud" to optimise mud performance and to enhance grip and "Sand" to limit the risk of becoming stuck on sandy soil.

Safety and convenience features include a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen Infotainment system, DAB, voice recognition, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 360 degree parking sensors and a 180 degree rear camera, level two autonomous drive featuring adaptive cruise control with lane centeing and traffic jam assist, a wireless smartphone charger and keyless entry and start.

It also comes with blind spot monitor, an auto dimming rear view mirror, hands free power tailgate, traffic sign recognition with intelligent speed assist and rain sensors.
