ASTON Martin has announced its most powerful production car ever in the shape of the DBS 770 Ultimate.

A limited edition run of the car will mark the end of DBS production and just 499 770 Ultimates will be made - 300 coupes and 199 Volantes.

Deliveries are scheduled to start in the autumn of 2023.

Powered by a 5.2-litre V12 engine developing 770ps the car has a top speed of 211mph with 0 to 62mph acceleration of 3.4 seconds.

An eight-speed automatic gearbox has a specially developed calibration which Aston says enhances shift speeds and the Ultimate also has a solid mounted steering column to improve driver feel.

It is stiffer than the standard DBS and changes have been made to the car's active damping system to improve ride quality.

Body changes include a horse-shoe engine vent on the bonnet and a new front splitter with outboard vents to help cooling while carbon fibre is used in the windscreen surround, mirror caos and sill which lowers the side profile of the car.

There is also a redesigned rear diffuser while inside the 770 Ultimate has sports seats trimmed in leather and Alcantara with a tailor-made strap and buckle badge featuring a laser etched DBS 770 Ultimate logo found on the centre arm rest.

Carbon fibre gearshift paddles are also fitted as standard and each car is fitted with special sill plates showing the Aston Martin Wings, the DBS 770 Ultimate logo and limited-edition numbering signifying the vehicle as one of 300 Coupes or 199 Volantes.

Prices for the Ultimate have not been revealed but Aston Martin says all 499 versions have already been allocated to customers.
