SPIKE, the canine friend of the MINI brand, has been reimagined for the digital age and will be having his debut as a virtual character at the Shanghai motor show.
Inspired by the look of an English Bulldog, the MINI mascot will feature in the instrument display of the new Concept Aceman crossover which is appearing at the show alongside other new MINIs.
The brand will also be showing off the all-electric MINI Cooper SE Convertible and marking the 30 anniversary of the MINI Convertible it will also be showing a MINI Convertible Seaside Edition.
The Aceman is MINI's first electric crossover and gives a clue about future products from the BMW-owned brand.
Spike has been accompanying the British premium marque's success story since the modern MINI debuted in 2001 and has now gone digital as part of the Aceman's new look.
The reimagined four-legged friend will also become an art toy welcoming visitors to the MINI stand at Shanghai as a large-format sculpture.
Also known as Auto Shanghai, the exhibition is considered one of the most important international motorshows in the industry and attracted more than 800,000 visitors in 2021.
The 20th edition of Auto Shanghai, with exhibitors from all over the world, will take place from April 18 to 27 at the China Expo Convention and Exhibition Complex.
