SKODA is adding a top range Laurin and Klement model to its Enyaq line-up of all-electric vehicles.

Named after the Czech car company's founders Vaclav Laurin and Vaclav Klement the new Enyaq has specific exterior and interior design features and comes with a comprehensive range of standard equipment.

The rear-wheel-drive Enyaq L&K 85 and the Enyaq L&K 85x with all-wheel drive deliver a system output of 285ps and an increased range of up to 354 miles along with battery charging times from 10 to 80 per cent in less than 30 minutes.

The Enyaq L&K is the first Skoda to feature a new user interface for enhanced ease of use, with updated graphics.

The rear- wheel-drive Enyaq L&K 85 accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 6.7 seconds, which is almost two seconds faster than the previous rear-wheel-drive Enyaq 80.

The top speed is now 112 miles while the Enyaq L&K 85x with all-wheel drive accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 6.6 seconds and its range is up to 342 miles.

Design features outside include model-specific grey detailing on the bumpers, diffuser and door mirrors while the grill features Skoda's Crystal Face system and is illuminated in 131 LED lights.

LED matrix headlights and LED tail lights are also fitted while Skoda is also dropping the iV suffix from the Enyaq badge on the tailgate - a feature that will extend across the Enyaq range.

Inside, leather upholstery is standard and the seats come with ventilation and massage functions.

Skoda has also announced that all future Enyaq models running the new software version will feature an improved user interface which includes the Virtual Cockpit and the head-up display.

Revisions to the menu structure of the infotainment system see three basic buttons displayed in three corners of the screen. Tapping the icon in the top left provides access to the vehicle settings, while apps are available in the bottom right corner. A tap in the bottom left corner takes the driver to the redesigned home screen.

The favourite buttons for quick access to certain functions have also been improved. Drivers can configure up to five favourite shortcuts to control vehicle functions - like the lane assist, the windscreen heating or the air recirculation function. These will then be directly accessible in the upper part of the display. In addition, up to three applications - such as navigation, the mobile phone menu or the media player - can be activated via the bar at the bottom of the screen while there are also new navigation maps.

Prices for the Enyaq L&K are will be announced when the vehicle goes on sale later in the year.
