ASTON Martin has revealed its new DB12 coupe - a car it describes as a quantum shift in its bloodline.
Likely to be the last of a breed before the company switches to electrically-powered vehicles, the DB12 is described as the world's first Super Tourer and is powered by a 4.0-litre twin turbo petrol engine.
Top speed for the 2+2 is claimed to be 202mph with a 0 to 60 acceleration time of 3.5 seconds.
The car comes as Aston Martin celebrates two significant milestones in 2023 - its 110anniversary and 75 years of the DB model line.
The DB12 is fitted with an eight-speed automatic transmission and comes with an all-new suspension system featuring the latest adaptive dampers, and a precision-oriented direct electronic power assisted steering system and an electronic rear differential to enhance agility.
With five drive modes the V8 develops some 680ps - 34 per cent more power than that of the outgoing DB11.
Roberto Fedeli, group chief technology officer of Aston Martin said: "DB12 is a statement car. One that asserts Aston Martin's position as a leader in performance, dynamics, engineering and technology.
"We have pushed every aspect of this car to be best-in-class. The result is more power and performance than its rivals. Combined with exceptional handling and an exciting soundtrack, it is a car with passion and a truly sporting character. Crucially, thanks to its breadth of capability we have achieved this without compromising refinement, comfort and luxury.
"Together with our use of industry-leading dynamic control and infotainment systems, DB12 is the start of Aston Martin's most exciting new era."
The DB12 is fitted as standard with cast-iron 400mm front discs and 360mm rear discs and the brake booster has been re-tuned to improve pedal feedback. It can also be fitted with carbon ceramic brakes as an option which increase stopping performance.
It sits on 21-inch wheels shod with Michelin's new Pilot Sport 5 S tyres.
Compared to the DB11, the newcomer has a 6mm wider track at the front and 22mm wider at the rear and its all-new front-end features a larger, re-shaped radiator aperture and a re-shaped splitter as well as the new Aston Martin badge.
Interior features are a blend between the marque's famed handcrafted trim finishes and high technology but with physical switches for gear and drive selection, heating and ventilation as well as touchscreen commands.
There's also a new infotainment system featuring a Bowers & Wilkins sound system and operated via a 10.25-inch display screen.
Deliveries are schedules to start in the autumn of 2023 and it is anticipated the DB12 will cost from around £185,000. An open top version is likely to follow in 2024.
