A NEW e-Rifter electric MPV is on the way from Peugeot with the vehicle getting a new front look as well as tweaks inside.

With a redesigned nose, a new grille, bumper and headlights that now feature the brand's iconic three-claw light signature the popular model also get a reworked interior with a new-look facia.

A 10-inch display screen can now be fitted and that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay systems.

The vehicle now has a range of 199 miles with the motor producing 136bhp derived from a 50kWh battery.

As before, the e-Rifter is available with two wheelbase lengths at 4.4 metres and 4.7 metres in long wheelbase guise with five or seven individual folding seats respectively.

The five-seat version has 775 litres of boot space under the parcel shelf, and the Long version expands that up to 4,000 litres to the ceiling with all the seats folded down.

Recharging to 80 per cent capacity can be done in as little as 30 minutes from a fast charger while a full charge from a home wallbox takes seven and a half hours.

Prices are still to be announced but can be expected to run from around £34,000.
