AN updated version of the Hyundai Bayon crossover has been unveiled and it comes with sharper styling as well as changes to the interior and tech upgrades.

The new Bayon gets a front daytime running light LED strip across the nose similar to that on the new Hyundai Kona as well as a new radiator grille and front bumper design. A new look bumper also features at the rear.

Inside there's a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster with a separate 10.25-inch audio sisual navigation screen as standard and the new model can now take over-the-air updates.

Two USB-C ports - one in the front and one in the rear - are fitted and a front USB-A port also allows data transfer, enabling occupants to connect their phone to the vehicle's infotainment system.

A number of semi-autonomous driving features include lane following assist and forward collision-avoidance assist which has car, pedestrian, and cyclist detection, as well as junction turning, which can apply the brakes to prevent a collision with an oncoming car when turning at an intersection.

Another advanced feature is navigation-based smart cruise control which uses data from the vehicle's navigation system to adjust speed automatically.

There's also blind-spot collision-avoidance assist and driver attention warning which works in tandem with leading vehicle departure alert which alerts the driver when the vehicle ahead of them starts moving forward.

The new Bayon now features second-generation eCall based on the 4G network, which automatically alerts emergency services if the vehicle's airbags are deployed in case of an accident. Alternatively, occupants can also activate this feature with the press of a button.

Prices, performance data and an on-sale date in the UK are still to be confirmed but the current version is priced from £21,570.
