REWORKED versions of SEAT's sporty Cupra Leon hatchback and estate and the Formentor SUV are on the way and dealers have already opened the order books.
All get a new look with a striking, shark-nose front end with an integrated Cupra logo, triangular LED lights and an illuminated logo positioned in the centre of the rear light.
Interiors have been enhanced with a redesigned centre console, door panels and dashboard and new upholsteries. There's also a larger 12.9-inch infotainment system, which complements a new and improved Human Machine Interface (HMI) within the digital cockpit.
No fewer than seven trim levels are available, combined with a range of powertrain options including the Volkswagen group's latest plug-in hybrid system which offers an impressive electric only range.
The entry level option across the latest range, however, is a new 148bhp,1.5-litre TSI petrol unit which is linked to a six-speed manual transmission. The same engine is also available as a 48V mild-hybrid which is exclusively fitted with DSG automatic transmission.
At the pinnacle of all three ranges are the VZ variants which can be ordered with a new range-topping 328bhp, two-litre, turbocharged petrol engine and a seven-speed DSG gearbox. On the VZ3 trim, this unlocks a new drive mode with a drivetrain calibrated for the racetrack and equipped with torque splitter technology and Akebono brakes.
Two hybrid options are available with power outputs of either 201 or 268bhp Both come with the new 1.5-litre TSI engine, an electric motor, and a larger battery pack. This culminates in an electric range of more than 70 miles.
Starting prices have been set at £31,090 for the Leon hatchback, £33,370 for the estate and £33,450 for the entry-level Formentor SUV but buyers wanting to splash out can spend as much as £48 to £52k for exclusive first edition versions.
