THE second generation of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has been revealed and it comes with the Bavarian car maker's latest design and advanced technology.

Two versions will be available when it arrives in March 2025 - a 220 M Sport priced from £34,915 and a performance-oriented M235 xDrive costing from£44,435.

It has increased in length by 20mm to 4,546mm, while the wheelbase measures 2,670mm. The width is 1,800mm and the height has increased by 25mm to 1,445mm.

With the latest BMW petrol engines under the bonnet - including a 48-volt mild hybrid system -

In the 220 Gran Coupe it has a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine which generates 170hp with 156hp from the combustion engine, 20hp from the electric motor. As a result, it accelerates from 0-62 mph in 7.9 seconds with a top speed of 143 mph and can achieve fuel economy of 51.4-53.3 mpg and 129-120 g/km of CO2.

The M235 gets twin turbos and has 300hp on tap from a 2.0-litre engine enabling it to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.9 seconds.

M TwinPower Turbo technology gives the new BMW M235 xDrive Gran Coupa a maximum output of 300 hp, enabling it to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4.9 seconds with a maximum of 155mph compared to the 143mph of the 220 model.

Fuel economy for the M235 is rated between 34.4 and 37.7mpg with emissions of 185 to 170g/km.

Both have seven-speed Steptronic transmissions which now have all-electric actuation, a wider spread of gears and increased efficiency.

A new interior features numerous enhancements compared with the previous version and has the latest BMW iDrive with QuickSelect and a wide range of features and digital services based on the BMW Operating System 9, including advance driving assistance and parking systems.

From March 2025 an ‘Iconic Glow' radiator grille with contour lighting will be available as an option.

Other design features include remodelled side sills while the rear apron is finished in high-gloss black.

On the BMW 220 M Sport Gran Coupe, the tailpipes are invisible while the M model has quad exhaust tailpipes as well as a radiator grille with horizontal bars, black M exterior mirror caps and a front apron with large air inlets, specific side sills, a model-specific M rear spoiler and rear diffuser.

Boot capacity for the M235 is 430 with the mild-hybrid 220 M Sport having reduced space of 360 litres and both have folding rear seats for more room.
