SUZUKI has revealed first details and images of its first-ever fully electric model which will be built in India and go on sale in Europe next summer.
The new e Vitara is based on the DeVX concept model which was first revealed almost two years ago and is unmistakably a member of the Vitara family. It sits on a newly developed platform engineered specifically for BEVs with both two-wheel-drive and an electric all-wheel-drive system.
The exterior features a striking design characterized by large-diameter tyres and a long wheelbase, while the interior incorporates an integrated display with advanced equipment and what Suzuki calls ‘tough-looking' panels and center console.
Suzuki isn't revealing details of range and specifications just yet but it's expected to come with two battery power options and with starting prices from around the £30k mark when it arrives here.
Suzuki's president Toshihiro Suzuki says: "The e Vitara is our first BEV, developed through repeated trial and error to create an easy-to-use BEV for our customers. Following the launch, we will continue to expand our BEV line-up and propose mobility solutions tailored to the needs of specific countries and regions."
