VOLKSWAGEN has announced UK pricing and specifications for the new Transporter panel van, starting from £30,995for the TDI model and £41,965for the fully electric variant, excluding VAT.

The seventh-generation Transporter will be available in three trims - Commerce, Commerce Plus and Commerce Pro.

With more space, increased payload and greater economic efficiency, the new Transporter has a remodelled professional cockpit for a high-tech workplace.

In addition to the panel van at launch, the new Transporter will be available in Kombi, Shuttle and double-cab chassis variants, all either as standard or long wheelbase.

When order books open in January 2025, it will be available in three diesel and two electric powertrains, with a plug-in hybrid drive (eHybrid) arriving in 2026.

The new Transporter cockpit has been redesigned with professionals in mind, combining both digital displays and controls with robust hard keys.

USB-C and USB-A ports are laid out in the interior, with the option to add up to three 230V sockets and 12V socket in rear pillar on plug-in hybrid and electric models.

Also included are an array of standard features - such as a 13-inch infotainment display - and advanced safety technology, including lane assist, dynamic road sign display and wrong-way driver warning.

The maximum payload is 1.33 tonnes, 0.13 tonnes more than the previous model, and able to tow up to 2.8 tonnes. The maximum stowage volume in the panel van has also increased by 10 per cent to 5.8m.

All UK customers will receive Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles' 5+ Promise Warranty and Service plan as standard, which includes five services, five years' warranty and five years' roadside assistance.
