A BIG reduction in charging times is on the cards for buyers of four of Stellantis brands' large electric vans.
The company has announced key updates across its fully electric large light commercial vehicle (LCV) line-up, which will slash the time it takes to recharge the CitroeÌn Relay, Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer and Vauxhall Movano electric vans by more than five and a half hours.
Key to this massive improvement is the fitting of a 22kW onboard charger as standard - and this upgrade on the previous 11kW onboard charger comes with no additional cost.
The new onboard charger, which will be fitted to vans produced from May 1, drastically reduces charging times on a typical three-phase wallbox from 11h 45 mins to just 6h 5 mins. On a 150kW DC rapid charger, a 0-80 per cent charge can be completed in just 55 mins.
Meanwhile, in preparation for new emissions legislation which is set to take effect next January, Stellantis has also updated its 2.2-litre diesel engines to comply with the stricter requirements ahead of schedule.
And buyers of diesel models will now also have the option of replacing the standard five-inch touchscreen with the same seven-inch infotainment touchscreen, as those fitted to electric variants, at a cost of £400 plus VAT. The bigger screen offers integration with wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, providing drivers with access to navigation, entertainment, and communication tools.
