FIVE new models are being introduced to the Volvo range with the arrival of changes to the XC60, EC40, EX40, XC40, and XC90 model ranges.

The XC60's status as Volvo Cars' top-selling model globally is strengthened with a series of updates in a wide-ranging refresh programme for 2025.

The updated mid-size SUV is marked out by new exterior styling with a new-look grille, fresh alloy wheel designs and dark-finished rear lamp clusters.

The interior is updated to bring the latest user experience (UX) - as already seen in the EX30, ES90, XC90 and EX90 - to the XC60, accessed via a faster and more responsive infotainment system, complete with a larger 11.2-inch touchscreen.

As well as a redesigned central storage console and wireless charging pad, the cabin environment has been further enhanced with improved sound insulation measures. There are also new upholstery choices, including bio-attributable Nordico and a navy herringbone woven fabric.

Three powertrains are available: the B5 mild-hybrid petrol and T6 and T8 petrol-electric plug-in hybrids. Prices start at £49,240 for the B5 Core version and run to £69,860 for the T8 Plug-in Hybrid Ultra Black Edition.

The flagship EX90 fully electric large SUV range has been extended with the addition of a new Single Motor, rear-wheel-drive version and Plus trim level.

The new powertrain features a 104/100kWh capacity battery in a powertrain that delivers a maximum of 279hp, enabling 0-62mph in 8.4 seconds.

With electric consumption of up to 3.4 miles per kWh, the EX90 Single Motor has a range of up to 380 miles on a full charge.

The new Plus trim level is available for both Single Motor and Twin Motor versions, giving the seven-seat SUV a new entry-level on-the-road price of £82,660.

The EX30 small SUV is the latest model to follow the Volvo Cross Country tradition of more rugged looks and performance.

Introduced as a single variant, it is based on the EX30 Twin Motor Performance Ultra. Its Cross Country credentials are exhibited by practical exterior details, including matt black front and bootlid shields, bespoke front and rear bumpers with integrated skidplates, and matt black wheelarch extensions.

The EX30 Cross Country is engineered for tackling rougher surfaces thanks to all-wheel drive and ground clearance increased by 19mm and it has an on-the-road price of £47,060.

On the electric EC40 and EX40the introduction of a larger battery has increased the driving range by up to 15 miles with a maximum of 360 miles for the EC40 (previously 346 miles) and 358 miles for the EX40 (previously 343 miles).

There is also a Plus Pro trim level which is being introduced on theEC40, EX40, XC40, XC60 and XC90 model ranges.

Positioned between the established Plus and Ultra equipment grades, it provides both useful technology and additional styling features.

On EC40, EX40 and XC40 models, highlights of its additional equipment include pixel LED headlights with adaptive shadow technology, LED front foglights with a cornering function and a 360-degree surround-view camera system.

The XC60 Plus Pro package includes 20-inch alloy wheels, complete with a contrast diamond cut/black finish, and soft Nappa leather ventilated upholstery, while XC90 Plus Pro versions receive 21-inch wheels and the ventilated Nappa leather seats.

The roll-out of the new-generation Volvo Car infotainment user experience continues with the EC40, EX40, XC40, V60 and V90 being the latest models to gain the new technology package with a new Snapdragon Cockpit Platform from Qualcomm Technologies giving more than twice the response speed and 10 times faster graphics generation than the previous system.

With simplification as a guiding principle, the UX is designed for safe, easy and enjoyable interaction with the car's multimedia functions, with the most frequently used apps and features located on the home screen. Google services, including Google Maps, Google Assistant and access to the Google Play store, are also built in.
