LONGBOW,the British electric sportscar company, has unveiled the Speedster, its first Featherweight Electric Vehicle.
In doing so, the company has achieved an automotive industry first, moving from sketch to road in just six months.
Longbow celebrated this milestone together with customers, VIPs and select collaborators in London where it is based in Covent Garden.
Designed and built from a clean sheet, the Speedster has lightweight construction and accessible performance and weighs less than 1,000kg.
What would take most traditional Original Equipment Manufacturers around 18 months to complete, the Longbow team has achieved in just a third of the time and first customer deliveries are on track for 2026.
All Longbow models will be designed, engineered, and hand built in the UK. Only 150 Speedsters are due for production.
Described as a spiritual successor to British icons like the Lotus Elise and Jaguar E-Type the Speedster weighs just 895kg and sprints to 62mph in 3.5 seconds.
It has a range of 275 miles and is priced from â¤84,995. It will be succeeded by the closed-top Roadster, starting from â¤64,995. Reservations for both are available now.
Daniel Davey, co-founder and CEO at Longbow, said:"Speedster seems to have struck a chord with enthusiasts. It's a timeless blueprint with a twist, which was exactly what the market was missing. Inviting customers to this unveiling was our way of saying thank you. We're a new company with a new product, seeing their faith and passion for a vehicle we have built is a special feeling.
"While Speedster defies convention, so too has our journey to get here - we've managed to deliver a Dynamic Demonstrator in just six months. No truer illustration of our Speed of Lightness approach."
