MAZDA is continuing its electric journey with the unveiling of the Mazda CX-6e SUV which it describes as a car which redefines EV driving.

Powered by a 78kWh battery, this mid-sized SUV delivers 258psand 290Nm of torque to the rear wheels and has a range of up to 300 miles.

Inside, there is a 26-inch touchscreen, multilingual voice recognition and a suite of intelligent safety features.

Driving the rear axle through a single-speed transmission, it accelerates from standstill to 62mph in 7.9 seconds and onto a top speed of 115mph.

A maximum DC charging rate of 195kW results in a 10-80 per cent charge time of 24 minutes. The onboard charger supports 11kW three-phase AC charging via Type 2 connectors for convenient home charging.

The display screen is complemented by a large head-up display that overlays navigation guidance onto the road ahead, while gesture control lets drivers select pre-saved routes or play music without touching a button.

Every model features nine airbags and a network of high-definition cameras, millimetre-wave radar and ultrasonic sensors to enhance visibility and awareness.

A full suite of driver assistance systems, includes smart brake support, lane keeping assist and blind spot monitoring.

The CX-6e has an extended 2,902 mm wheelbase and short overhangs with a 468-litre luggage bay expanding to 1,434 litres with the second row of seats folded flat.

"The all-new Mazda CX-6e brings our human-centric approach into the electric era, combining great design, driving enjoyment, and advanced technology for European customers," says Martijn ten Brink, president and CEO of Mazda Motor Europe.

"The all-new CX-6e offers the efficiency and performance our customers expect, while supporting Mazda's broader ambition to reduce CO2 and expand our electric portfolio. Together with the Mazda6e, it accelerates our electrification strategy and strengthens our multi-solution approach."

It will join the Mazda6e in Mazda's battery electric line-up and will be going on sale late in 2026.
