HYUNDAI has announced that the Kona Electric is now eligible for the Government's Electric Car Grant.

Every Kona Electric now qualifiesfor the Electric Car Grant Band 2, providing £1,500 off the on-the-road purchase price, encouraging more drivers to adopt zeroâemission motoring.

As well as providing retail customers with a £1,500 saving, customers choosing a Kona Electric via Motability will now see their advance payment reduce to £749.

The Kona Electric has a significant presence in the fleet market, and the Electric Car Grant eligibility further enhances its fleet proposition with it now available from £349 plus VAT on a 6+35 month contract with 8,000 miles per annum.

The new positionrepresentsan improvement of£38 per month and positionsthe Kona Electric competitively against its competition.

Ashley Andrew, president of Hyundai and Genesis UK, said: "Kona Electric's eligibility for the Electric Car Grant ensures that customers have access to a more level playing field when it comes to choosing electric mobility. A lower retail price, attractive fleet proposition and lower Motability advance payment ensures that Kona Electric's mix of high specification, long-range abilities and affordability remains extremely attractive, regardless of how you choose to fund your vehicle."

The Hyundai Electric Grant, launched in July 2025, is still available across the Hyundai's award-winning electric range, offering £3,750 off all models of Inster and £1,500 off all models of Ioniq 5, 5 N, Ioniq 6, 6 N and Ioniq 9.
