LOTUS has unveiled a hybrid powertrain capable of delivering 952ps with a total range of 750 miles and almost 220 miles only on electric power.
The X Hybrid system will make its debut in the forthcoming Eletre X due for launch in June.
Seamlessly switching among pure EV, series hybrid, and parallel hybrid operation it is designed to ensure optimum performance, efficiency and realâworld range.
It enables 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds and is said to allow charging from 20 to 80 per cent in around nine minutes.
The Eletre X has a 900V architecture, complemented by four levels of regenerative braking to recoup energy in everyday driving.
The system was unveiled in China and European specifications for the model will be published at a later date closer to the official European launch.
Qingfeng Feng, chiefâ¯executive officerof Lotus Tech, said"We are proving that advanced technology must serve the drivers, not replace them - delivering constant performance, total control, and real safety in every condition, so that consumers can enjoy the emotion of driving and the confidence of protecting what matters most.
"Quoting the famous Pirelli campaign: ‘Power is nothing without control'. That is why our electricfirst hybrid pairs supercar figures - up to 952ps and 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds - with a 900V architecture, around nine minutes 20-80 per cent fast charging and a 150 kW generator, enabling some 220 miles of pure electric freedom and over 750 miles combined range. The result is effortless performance without range anxiety, every journey, every day."
The X Hybrid system made its global debut in China within the localâmarket SUV known as Lotus FOR ME, which serves as the reference prototype for the technology.
