BYD has confirmed UK pricing and specifications for the ATTO 3 EVO.
Starting from £38,990, the modest step up in price on the outgoing model comes despite the significant increase in both technical specification and standard equipment levels.
Many of the improvements for the ATTO 3 EVO were inspired by customer feedback of the existing model.
In addition to a refreshed exterior design and a more streamlined interior, the ATTO 3 EVO has more power, a bigger battery, longer range, faster charging, improved practicality and increased standard equipment within a simplified trim structure.
The new ATTO 3 EVO is availablein two trim levels.
The Design, priced at £38,990, comes with a new 8.8-inch digital instrument panel, a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with integrated Google features including Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play Store, four USB-C ports, wireless smartphone charging with cooling, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree surround-view camera, Vehicle-to-Load, a heat pump, 18-inch alloy wheels, electrically adjustable heated front seats and ambient cabin lighting.
The Excellence costs £42,730 and builds upon the standard specification of the Design by adding a head-up display, heated rear seats, and a panoramic sunroof with electric sunshade.
In addition to the enhanced levels of standard specification, the ATTO 3 EVO gains an uprated powertrain over its predecessor.
By adopting the latest E-Platform 3.0, the ATTO 3 EVO switches from a front-wheel drive layout to a choice of rear-wheel drive in Design grade or all-wheel drive in Excellence.
In both instances, power and performance have been increased with the Design's single motor offers 309bhp and 380Nm of torque, enabling a 0-62mph time of 5.5 seconds. Thanks to an additional motor on the front axle, the total output of the Excellence climbs to 443bhp and 560Nm, which slashes the 0-62mph time to just 3.9 seconds.
Both range and charging have been -improved over the ATTO 3 which launched in 2023. BYD's proprietary lithium iron-phosphate Blade Battery offers a capacity of 74.8kWh, allowing for a range of up to 316 miles.
The ATTO 3 EVO's charging speeds have doubled compared to its predecessor; a 220kW maximum rate means that a 10 to 80per cent charge takes 25 minutes.
BYD's Cell-to-Body construction means that the Blade Battery forms a structural part of the car's chassis, bringing several benefits.
This increase in strength allows a more secure platform from which the suspension can operate; the introduction of a five-link suspension arrangement at the rear works with this new base to deliver more sophisticated ride and handling.
In addition to the uprated driving experience, Cell-to-Body has allowed the ATTO 3 EVO to offer more storage space than its predecessor. This comes in the form of a boot which, at 490 litres, is 50 litres larger than before, plus a new ‘frunk' which offers a further 95 litres of capacity under the bonnet.
As with the rest of the BYD lineup, the ATTO 3 EVO is backed up by a six-year, 93,750-mile warranty, plus a battery cover of up to eight years or 155,350 miles.
