RENAULT will display the production version of the new Renault Trafic Van E-Tech electric at this year's Commercial Vehicle Show, marking the model's UK debut ahead of orders opening later in 2026.

Following its global premiere in concept form at last year's Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, the new-generation Trafic returns to the NEC in production form.

Built on a dedicated skateboard platform and featuring 800V fast-charging technology, it represents a significant step forward in range, usability and digital capability for business customers.

The new Trafic E-Tech will be the first Renault Software Defined Vehicle. SDV technology lets the vehicle improve over time through software updates, adding new features, enhancing performance, and boosting reliability without changing hardware.

It reduces complexity, keeps the vehicle up to date, and helps businesses stay efficient with smarter maintenance and realâtime insights.

Designed to optimise load capacity within a compact footprint, Renault Trafic E-Tech electric offers load volumes of up to 5.3 cubic metres, a payload of up to 1.25 tonnesand a towing capacity of two tonnes. Overall height is limited to 1.90m, ensuring easy access to underground car parks, while a tight 10.3-metre turning circle enhances manoeuvrability in urban environments.

Two battery options will be available. A long-range NMC battery delivers up to 280 miles while an urban-range LFP battery, available at a later date, offers up to 220 miles and uses no rare metals such as cobalt or nickel.

With its 800V electrical architecture, Trafic E-Tech electric can charge from 15 to 80 per cent in around 20 minutes at a DC fast charger, recovering up to 160 miles of range.

The new OpenR multimedia system with a 12-inch central screen includes navigation tailored specifically for commercial vehicles, taking account of vehicle size and load to suggest suitable routes and optimised charging stops. Google built-in services will also be available.

Vehicle-to-Load and Vehicle-to-Grid functionality further enhance its versatility, enabling the van to power external tools and equipment or feed energy back to the grid when required.

In addition to the van version making its production-ready debut at the Commercial Vehicle Show, the Trafic E-Tech electric will also be available in chassis versions.

Trafic Van E-Tech Electric will be built in France at the Renault Group plant in Sandouville, where several of the conversions most frequently requested by customers will also be built on site.

Whatever the format - chassis cab, platform cab, tipper, flatbed or cargo box - new Renault Trafic E-Tech electric will combine fast production times with strict cost management and the manufacturer's guarantee of quality.

For bespoke projects, customers will be able to call on the expertise of the 300 Renault Pro+ approved partner bodybuilders.

Renault's stand at the Commercial Vehicle Show, which runs from April 21 to 23 at the NEC Birmingham, will span 823sqm in Hall 5. The event remains the UK's largest dedicated road transport and commercial vehicle exhibition, bringing together manufacturers, fleet operators and industry leaders to explore the technologies and vehicles shaping the sector's transition to net zero.

The Trafic Van E-Tech electric's UK debut comes at a time of strong fleet momentum for Renault. In 2025, Renault Group delivered its strongest true fleet performance for over a decade, with Renault LCV ranking third in the UK true fleet market, excluding pick-ups.
