JAECOO UK has confirmed the addition of a new full-hybrid powertrain to its compact SUV range with the introduction of the JAECOO 5 SHS-H.

Building on the foundations of the popular JAECOO 5, the new variant brings a full-hybrid powertrain option to the line-up, designed to support customers looking for greater efficiency without compromising usability or range.

Available from £26,270 and underpinned by OMODA&JAECOO UK's comprehensive vehicle and battery warranty, customer deliveries are expected from autumn 2026.

Following in the footsteps of sister brand OMODA UK, which introduced its first full-hybrid variant of the OMODA 5 in January this year, alongside the larger JAECOO 7 SHS-H confirmed in March 2026, the JAECOO 5 SHS-H enters the growing compact SUV segment.

Chery International brings its proven full-hybrid powertrain, which comprises a 1.5-litre turbo petrol full-hybrid system paired with a dedicated DHT automatic transmission, delivering a combined output of up to 165 kW.

With a 1.83 kWh battery and a 51-litre fuel tank, the JAECOO 5 SHS-H delivers a total driving range of more than 650 miles and fuel economy of up to 53 mpg.

Accelerating from 0-62 mph in just 7.9 seconds the SHS-H variant retains the same exterior design as its petrol-powered stablemate.

The JAECOO 5 SHS-H will be offered in both Pure and Luxury specifications, mirroring the existing JAECOO 5 line-up.

Pure provides a well-equipped foundation, including a 13.2-inch portrait-format touchscreen, a six-speaker SONY audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems.

Luxury builds on this with additional comfort and convenience features, including an eight-speaker SONY audio system, a tilt and slide sunroof measuring 1.45 square metres, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and heated and ventilated front seats.

Pricing will start from £26,270 for the Pure trim and from £29,765 for the Luxury trim, with UK customer deliveries expected to begin from quarter three 2026.

As with all JAECOO UK models, the JAECOO 5 SHS-H will be supported by a 7-year/100,000-mile warranty, alongside an 8-year/100,000-mile battery warranty, and will be available throughOMODA&JAECOOUK's nationwide dealership network.
