THE AION UT electric supermini will cost £28,950 when order books open in September.

Offering UK motorists a new standard, with performance, premium quality, generous equipment and class-leading space, the UT will make its public debut at the British Motor Show in Farnborough from August 21 to 23 alongside the AION V SUV, the brand's first model that launched earlier this year.

The AION UT, designed in Europe at the company's styling house in Milan, brings supermini buyers the premium features, comfort and design flair typically found on larger cars, including a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, a 14.6-inch central touch screen and 360 degree surround-view camera.

Buyers can choose to enhance their UT with an optional high-value Premium Pack to add further higher-class features including a panoramic glass roof, powered tailgate, ventilated driver's seat and wireless phone charging, for £1,200.

The cabin affords generous legroom and headroom for front and rear passengers, and 24 practical storage areas and a large 440-litre multi-layer boot offer exceptional versatility.

Its 60kWh battery delivers the longest standard range in the segment, offering a class-leading 268 miles of electric driving. And, sprinting from 0-62 mph in just 7.3 seconds, it's one of the perkiest superminis about town.

AION's UK team has led an extensive tuning programme specific to the typical driving habits and preferences of UK motorists.

The UT has bespoke modifications to the springs, dampers and bump-stops, as well as a revised anti-roll bar to give the UT its playful character.

Its agility is married to a compliant ride that makes for comfortable journeys even on torrid British road surfaces.
