THE new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and the latest-generation Mitsubishi L200 Series 7 double-cab pickup truck have been revealed as the two Mitsubishi models to be made available in the UK from summer 2026, initially available in limited numbers from launch.
Both the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and the Mitsubishi L200 proved highly popular and achieved exceptional sales success in their respective sectors.
Built upon Mitsubishi's core values of Japanese engineering and customer reassurance, the all-new Outlander PHEV and the latest L200 feature cutting-edge technology and are designed to appeal to Mitsubishi's loyal customer base and new customers wanting up-to-the-minute family SUVs and pick-ups.
Launched in 2014, the original all-wheel-drive Mitsubishi Outlander was a trail-blazing PHEV, offering a unique blend of versatility, safety, and sustainability.
The Outlander has remained the best-selling PHEV in its class over the past decade, with sales exceeding 50,000 cumulative UK registrations.
New from the ground up, the latest Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is 2.5cm longer, 6.2cm wider, and 3.8cm taller than its predecessor.
The Outlander PHEV is powered by an enhanced 2.4-litre petrol engine with a traction battery powering front and rear electric motors.
The EV-based 4WD powertrain delivers a combined power output of over 300hp, with a driving range of over 500 miles.
The twin-motor 4WD powertrain pairs with Mitsubishi Motors' rally-bred Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) system, which optimally manages driving and braking forces at all four wheels to deliver exceptional handling and stability.
With a choice of drive modes and a range of terrain selection settings, the Outlander PHEV ensures a commanding driving experience in all weather and all terrain conditions.
The interior of the Outlander PHEV combines practicality, versatility and a premium finish. And, for the first time in the UK market, a version of the Outlander PHEV will be available with a seven-seat arrangement.
Mitsubishi's L200 pick-up first arrived in the UK in the mid-1980s in single-cab, Series 2 guise, with the following Series 3 being available for the first time as a double-cab model.
The subsequent arrival of the Series 4, Series 5, and Series 6 models elevated the Mitsubishi L200's legendary status even further, extending cumulative sales to more than 180,000 units.
The most capable L200, the Series 7 model features a modern exterior that matches a cabin delivering significant advances in design, technology, and material quality.
The Mitsubishi L200 is powered by an extensively reengineered 2.4-litre two-stage bi-turbo diesel engine.
Power and torque have both been increased over its predecessor.
The L200's state-of-the-art Super Select 4WD-II system offers a choice of two- and four-wheel drive, along with centre differential locked full-time four-wheel drive and low gear centre differential locked four-wheel drive, with the choice of seven Normal, ECO, Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand, and Rock driving modes.
Sharon Townsend, head of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said:"We are excited to announce the two new Mitsubishi models that will go on sale in the UK in summer 2026. While the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and the Mitsubishi L200 are familiar, much-loved, and respected names in the UK, we will be introducing the very latest models, which feature significant design, technology, and performance upgrades over their predecessors."
UK launch dates, prices and vehicle specifications will be made available closer to launch in 2026.
