KOREAN premium brand Genesis ditched all its petrol and electric models last year to become an EV only manufacturer and now its GV60 model has been treated to a mid-life facelift.
It has been given design, technology and powertrain improvements to help it compete against the German premium models.
As a result the front gets a new bumper, reshaped grille and new headlights while the rear also gets a new bumper and rear spoiler.
The striking design will not appeal to all but it does stand out from the crowd.
Inside the cabin offers real quality and there is a new steering wheel and a superb 27-inch integrated cockpit which replaces the two screens in the last model.
A rotary controller and the touchscreen combine to make operation easy.
The build quality is excellent and easily as good as any of the German rivals, while there is lots of space for four adults to travel in great comfort.
On the practical front there is a 432-litre boot and a useful 53-litre frunk at the front to store charging cables and other small items.
My entry level Pure version has a single rear-mounted 226bhp motor which the manufacturerclaims is good for 348 miles. In real world driving you can expect to achieve nearer 300 miles.
Performance is impressive with 0-62mph reached in 7.8 seconds and a top speed of 114 mph.
The GV60 offers a refined comfortable drive with nicely weighted steering and instant throttle response. Paddles behind the steering wheel enable you to select braking regeneration levels.
This Pure model comes complete with handsome 19-inch alloys, LED headlights, heated and power operated front seats and steering wheel, a powered tailgate and lots more including acoustic glass to keep outside noise to a minimum.
A reversing camera and rear parking sensors help out around town and the GV60 also features all the latest safety and driver aids.
It handles nicely on country roads and is a great motorway cruiser.
