Citroen gives C5

some extra style

Citroen C5 Saloon, action

CITROEN'S latest C5 range will have refreshed styling and technology upgrades when saloon and tourer models go on sale next week.

The upgrades include new LED lights, darker tinted rear light clusters, re-worked engines and the arrival of the French company's innovative eTouch Emergency & Assistance System.

A full Euro 5 compliant engine line-up is also in place with the introduction of the 1.6HDi 110hp Euro 5 to replace the Euro 4 version.

The 1.6i THP 155hp petrol engine - available in saloon form with VTR+ NAV trim - and the 3.0HDi V6 240hp Auto Exclusive have been re-vamped and now offer improved fuel efficiency and lower CO emissions.

Combined cycle fuel economy increases from 39.8mpg to 42.2mpg and 38.2mpg to 39.2mpg respectively. while CO emissions are also down 14g/km and 6g/km, resulting in reduced BIK tax rates for both models.

The eTouch system - standard on all C5 Exclusive models - automatically or manually makes emergency calls and allows manual assistance calls for a rapid response in the event of an accident or if the car is immobilised.

This set-up also allows drivers to find information online at their ‘MyCITROÃN' personal space, which allows them to monitor their car's maintenance requirements and to receive advice on improving fuel economy.  These services are free and available 24-7.

Prices for the new range are from £19,195 for the C5 1.6 HDi 110hp VTR Saloon and £20,295 for the Tourer.
